Maybe you are consulting the best YouTube videos everyday. But have you already asked what’s the first video uploaded to that platform?! Of course it will be someone who founded it. Me at the zoo is the title of the first video uploaded to YouTube by Jawed Karim one of the three founders of that platform it was on 23/04/2005 at 20:27:12 PDT. His username ‘jawed’ and the 18-second video was recorded by his high school friend Yakov Lapitsky. It was at San Diego Zoo, featuring Karim in front of the elephants in their old exhibit in Elephant Mesa, making note of their long trunks.
As of October 11, 2019, the video is still active on YouTube and has received more than78,082,563 views, 2.4 million likes, 83,000 dislikes, and over 3.6 million comments.

“All right, so here we are in front of the elephants,” says Jawed Karim.

“The cool thing about these guys is that they have really, really, really long trunks, and that’s, that’s cool. And that’s pretty much all there is to say.”
